Fitbit Flex Depth Review

Fitbit Flex and Fitbit One, both comes in the same price range but they are very different kind of fitness tracking devices. The Fitbit One looks like a pedometer that’s overgrown due to hormones, and doesn’t come with a wrist strap for wearing like a wrist watch. On the other hand, the Fitbit Flex looks most like a fashionable bracelet but it is actually a full-fledged fitness tracker. Of course a human made gadget can’t be 100% perfect, but for $99.95 this is the best one you could buy. It tracks every basic criteria of your fitness like steps taken, hours you slept, calories you burned and foods you consumed (manually done) etc. The Fitbit Flexwould then make a report of your data by pushing them to the Fitbit Cloud Servers and you can fetch the data anytime for your personal use. The Fitbit One has more offerings than slightly higher priced devices like the Jawbone Up or the Nike FuelBand etc.

Design

Fashion savvy people would be delighted to see a fitness band with smart outlines and perfectly crafted band like body. The surface looks kind of unadorned and since there’s no screen; your first impression might not be as good as it is supposed to be. However, as you start using the Flex your love will grow higher. Beneath the plastic surface there are five LED lights that blink to show the status of the Flex modes.

If you pull out the main processing unit off the rubber band strap, you will see how tiny the Fitbit Flex actually is. It looks almost the same design as a nude Fitbit One or Zip, but surprisingly it is way smaller than those. Looks like a scaled down version of the Fitbit One, kind of.

On the strap you can find few metal contacts which are basically used to charge the battery and transfer data using a connector.

Features

The Fitbit range of products offers almost the same range of features. The sleep tracking is far better on the Flex than One; since this one comes with a wearable strap it offers more convenience. However, you can’t just jump into your bed and assume that Flex is recording your sleeping stats. Six precise taps on the surface is required which takes practice. Because if you don’t tap it right, the sleep mode won’t be initiated.

However, the rest of the features are similar to other Fitbit devices. The graph on their server lets you see your fitness based activities on a day, week, month, 3 months or a year’s interval.

If you want instant data then download the companion apps available on iOS and Android platforms for the Fitbit devices. Connect your device using Bluetooth and get synced instantly. The online apps are the best Fitbit tools, accessible through both the web and smartphone platforms.

Battery Life

Usually 5 to 7 days according to Fitbit’s user manual. However, depending on your usage it may last more than 7 days.

Summary

For a below $100 fitness tracking gadget, you can’t really ask for more. The Fitbit Flex looks fashionable and work precisely and their fitness analysis tools are state of the art. We would highly recommend buying this device. Find the coupon for fitbit here.
