Largest Mass Media Company, Comcast Reveals its Own Live TV Streaming Service

Comcast, the American multi-national mass media company has launched its own live streaming TV service in Chicago and Boston areas to test the reaction of the customers. However, the largest cable company in the world is planning to bring their newly launched service under the entire cable territory of Comcast by the end of 2016. According to recent survey, Comcast Corporation is now World’s largest broadcasting company in terms of revenue. Moreover, the 300GB Data plan of Comcast will not be reduced while using the new service ‘Stream TV’ as per the official spokesperson of the company. The Live Stream TV feature will use the technology, IP cable network not the user’s data plan.

Comcast’s new stream TV is entirely a cable streaming service that uses the Comcast's managed cable system network, so the service will not be counted against the monthly data usage of Xfinity Internet, the spokesperson also added. While, another astonishing fact has been revealed at the same time that Comcast corporation is also the World’s largest home internet provider and second largest home cable TV provider company, just after the another leading American media corporation, AT&T.

Comcast is also planning to include some dominant streaming application to its cable network service to the customers that are using Smart TVs like Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV or any other Smart TV that runs on Android. Leading streaming applications like Crackle, Viewster, Showbox may also be included to the streaming service, however, the officials haven’t revealed any further information about the inclusion.

By the time the service launched in Chicago and Boston, the most asked question was ‘Will the streaming service use the allotted internet bandwith of the Comcast customers?’ Well, the answer is NO! for example the officials said that the customer who pays for internet speed of 50 MB per second will experience the same amount of speed while using internet service for any purpose, no matter if he/she using the Comcast TV streaming. Still, the new service is only intended for the Company’s internet only users, which will be offering the live TV streaming feature on any home devices like PC, Tablets or Smartphones. As we mentioned earlier the service will use the Comcast IP gateway to stream live TV, it has nothing to do with allotted data bandwith. But we have to admit this is indeed a cutting-edge feature for TV show buffs as now they don’t have to subscribe for set-top box to watch live TV.

Customers can also use their Comcast login ID and Password to log into channel specific applications like HBO GO or Showbox for PC or any other dominant app. Talking about the pricing, a $15 a month plan will allow the users to watch Live TV on any home devices while they are on Comcast’s internet connection. The live TV service will include the TV programs of Univision, ABC, HBO, CW, FOX, NBC, CBS, Telemundo, PBS and other local channels that vary by the location of Comcast’s cable TV territory.
